Community Cooking Project
The Community Cooking Project offers local residents the opportunity to increase their knowledge of healthy eating, improve their cooking skills and participants take home what they make.

Current Courses
Nutrition & Cooking for Parents with Young Children
- 5 - week introductory course
- Continuing 5 week course
Under the guidance of our qualified tutor you will:
- learn how to plan healthy, low cost meals for your family.
- develop your cooking skills in our community kitchen.
- make a dish to take home for the family to try.
We can provide some nursery places for young children and babies
Costs: £1.50 each week towards
ingredients (you will make a dish to take home).


CookWell-EatWell - nutrition & cooking courses for people with a diet-related condition (such as type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, high blood pressure, obesity) or those recently bereaved.
- 10-week course
Time: Wednesday 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Thursday 10:00 am - 12:00 noon
Under the guidance of our qualified tutor you will learn how to cook tasty and interesting meals whilst keeping to a diet recommended for your condition.
Costs: £1.50 each week towards ingredients - you will make a dish to take home.

Nourish Your Mind - A course for people with mild to moderate depression or mood disorders.
- 5 - week introductory course
- Continuing 5 week course
This course will cover ideas for increasing your intake of the minerals
and vitamins that you need to maintain a healthy nervous system.
Time: Tuesday 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Costs: £1.50 each week towards
ingredients (take home what you make in group).

Taking on the Takeaway - Save money and calories by learning how to make takeaway foods at home!
- 4 - week course
This course is often used as a gentle intoroduction to cooking with a group, and many people go on to join another of the cooking courses listed above.
Time: Thursdays 1pm - 3pm
Costs: £1.50 each week towards ingredients - you will take the dish you make.
