Hartcliffe Health and Environment Action Group (HHEAG)  is an established local community group that has developed and supported a range of projects in the BS13 area of South Bristol for nearly 20 years.

It is managed by a committee of residents whose vision is for local people to receive the same opportunity to live fulfilled, healthy and happy lives in a cared for environment, as all other communities.

HHEAG's Mission Statement

We aim to improve the lives of local people in the BS13 area of South Bristol, by actively engaging residents in both health related and environmental projects.

Strategic Aims

  • to support local people to improve their health by developing skills in nutrition and cooking
  • to increase the affordability and accessibility of healthy wholefoods, including fresh fruit and vegetables for local residents
  • to provide opportunities for local people of all ages to grow their own fruit and vegetables
  • to reduce the environmental impact of food production by providing locally grown vegetables without the use of chemicals or artificial fertilisers
  • To provide support to local residents in the pursuit of healthy and enviromentally friendly physical activities.

What we do

  • 'Plot to Plate' food projects, 'Sow and Grow' community garden and growing group, Organic growing courses at the Allotments, Food growing with schools
  • 'Greens' - a community market garden
  • 'Food For All', Hartcliffe Food co-op Community Cooking Project
  • Physical activities, Community walks and visit
